A nice size and well-organised room and bathroom with a bath. Location close enough to a lake, the waterfall along the Giant Kingfisher Trail and George, Sedgefield, Knysna. 15 minutes walk to Half Collared Kingfisher Trail.

The stay with activities in-and-around the area certainly was good value. View was scenic, breakfast was marvellous, and beds were exceptionally comfortable. Awesome riverside location next to the bar / pub.

It made our trip to Wilderness a fairly nice experience. Every detail of this incredibly beautiful and absolutely brilliant property was brand-new. Incredible and welcoming staff, provided information if needed. The room was fantastic and spotless, ideal for 7 nights. The breakfast spread was surprisingly good with muffins and Danish pastries, as for instance.

The setting was absolutely stunning, with a charming vintage ambiance that instantly transported us to another era. The concierge went above and beyond, offering us a room with a breathtaking river view at no extra charge. The bed was incredibly comfortable, guaranteeing a perfect night's sleep. The breakfast, served buffet-style, was a delightful spread that catered to all tastes. The dining room had a nostalgic touch with unique 60's furniture, adding to the hotel's timeless charm. The renovations were almost complete and the hotel looked stunning, combining beauty with comfort. The lovely waitress made our breakfast experience even more enjoyable. The bathroom was LOVELY and we adored the spacious shower. In the summer, opening the sliding door and reveling in the sounds of nature would be pure bliss. We had an amazing weekend stay here and can't wait to return. The cleanliness was impeccable, with well-maintained rooms and the breakfasts exceeded all expectations. The restaurant provided a wonderful dining experience and the staff throughout the hotel were incredibly nice and friendly. Despite the ongoing renovations, it didn't disrupt our stay and added to the overall appeal. The river view rooms were a dream, allowing us to marvel at the charming ducks swimming by in the early mornings. We highly recommend staying in this central and relaxing location.

staff can only be praised most highly. friendly, courteous, just nice. for example, food for our son (11 months) was prepared in the hotel's own kitchen, as we ourselves did not have a stove in the room. Furthermore, the location was great for us, as we were in Hilderness for hiking and the trails were easy to reach. If you want to go directly to the center or to the beach, you walk (estimated, we took the car) half an hour. The breakfast is English, but perfectly adequate and okay for the total price (R1220 for 2 nights and 2 person + baby).
we lived in one of the rondavels. you have your own room plus your own bathroom, but: it all needs a lot of renovation! bedroom is very dark, mattresses and lamps (some of them with glass cut off) make it seem as if time has stopped. in the bathroom there is old pvc or linolium, curves or rises at the corners. bathtub also serves as a shower, although the shower curtain also looks very outdated and is about 30 centimetres too long, so that it hangs in the bathtub all the time. rust also sets in everywhere and when showering it is not possible to prevent the water from flowing to the floor where it will stay for the next 24 hours. one should also not expect much from the pool. bar and dining room gave us the feeling of being on a school trip home in the 70s. It was clean here, however, you still couldn't get rid of the musty impression.

Enjoyed a comfortable rest in a standard twin room with a double bed and loved the scenic riverside setting near a waterfall along the Giant Kingfisher Trail.

The staff at Fairy Knowe went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. From the warm welcome at reception to the helpful waitstaff, I felt like a valued guest. The maintenance guy, Ashwell, shared great tips for exploring the area, and the upgraded room made me feel at home. The beautiful location along the river and well-maintained gardens added to the peaceful ambiance. Despite a few minor drawbacks like limited TV coverage and WiFi only available in reception, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Fairy Knowe Hotel. I highly recommend this charming retreat.

We loved its ideal and perfectly comfortable location.
Location: the hotel was near to the Fairy Knowe and a very enchanting Wilderness and surrounding scenery of natural beauty. Furthermore, in the dinning area during breakfast time...
